The growing popularity of installing sub-metering equipment is not surprising. Sub-metering
allows owners to pass on utility charges to the users. Rents are stabilized and increasing utility rates are no longer a variable factor. No longer does the owner need to subsidize residents utility usage.
Nor does one resident have to pay more than is their equitable share. Everyone benefits.
